Cyprus Tours Compared

A Cyprus tour can be a two-hour swim stop on a boat or a long day by coach across the island. This guide explains the main types and what to check before you pay.

Three kinds of Cyprus tour

Most tours fall into three groups. Boat trips are the best known, above all the cruises from Latchi to the Blue Lagoon on the Akamas peninsula. Jeep safaris go into the hills, and day trips by coach or minibus link sights that are far apart, such as Paphos, Kourion and the Troodos villages.

Prices and times below are the ones published by operators for 2026 and change with the season. The listings further down this page show live prices and availability. Tour operators set their own conditions, so read the description of what is included before you book.

Amphitheatre Bay on the Akamas Peninsula

Boat trips to the Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon on the Akamas peninsula is reached by boat from Latchi. One operator, Latchi Queen, published €25 per adult and €15 for children under 12 in July 2026. The price includes fruit juice, wine, fruit and snorkeling gear. Its trips run in the morning (10:30–13:00) and in the evening (17:00–20:00), and an afternoon trip is listed with different times, so confirm yours.

Alkion II, another Latchi boat, lists €25 for adults and €15 for children under 11, with a swim stop of about one hour. Note that the child age limit differs between operators. Both recommend booking ahead, and both say that rough seas can cancel a trip. Sunshine does not guarantee calm water, so ask before a long drive to the harbour.

Our page on the Blue Lagoon and Akamas explains the peninsula in more detail, including the closures that affect walkers and drivers.

Tours from Paphos

Many boat trips are sold "from Paphos", but the ship leaves from Latchi. A hotel shuttle covers the drive. Blue Diamond, for example, describes a shuttle from hotels to Latchi and back, a boat ride of about 3 hours and a whole trip of about 6 hours. Look for the exact pickup time and place in the booking confirmation.

If you drive yourself, allow plenty of time for the trip to Latchi and arrive early. The local bus network in Paphos is useful for the town, the harbour and the Tombs of the Kings, but it does not replace a transfer to Latchi. See the Paphos page for the sights in town.

Jeep safaris and rental vehicles

On a jeep or 4x4 tour the route depends on the operator. Before you book, ask which route the tour takes, whether the vehicle is insured for it and where the pickup is. The type of vehicle alone does not show that a route is allowed or covered.

The same applies if you rent a vehicle. One rental company excludes areas such as the Blue Lagoon and Fontana Amorosa in its own terms, or asks for written approval for named areas. That is a condition of one provider, not a law, but it shows why you must read your contract. Even a 4x4 or a buggy does not replace an agreement with your rental firm or a public road opening. If you want to drive the Akamas peninsula, read the notes on forest road closures on the Blue Lagoon page first.

Island day trips and what to check

Day trips save the effort of driving, but they differ a lot in what they include.

Entry tickets

Check whether entry is included. For comparison, adults pay €4.50 at the Kato Paphos park and at Kourion, €2.50 for the Tombs of the Kings and €4.50 at Limassol Castle (2026 published rates).

Pickup and drive time

Ask where the pickup is and how much of the day you spend on the road. Look for the meeting point in the confirmation, not only in the title.

Troodos and villages

Mountain villages such as Omodos and Kakopetria and the painted churches have their own hours. Churches in the UNESCO series are free and still in religious use, so tours must follow the access times.

Heat and clothing

Midday heat in July and August is strong on the coast, with average highs near 33 °C. Bring water, sun protection and shoes for uneven ground at archaeological sites.

The north

A tour to Kyrenia (Girne) or Famagusta (Gazimağusa) crosses the Green Line. Carry your passport or ID card and check how the operator handles the crossing and the vehicle. The page on north Cyprus has the details.

How to compare offers

  • Price per person: check the child age limit, which differs between operators (under 11 or under 12).
  • Inclusions: snorkeling gear, drinks and food are listed for some boat trips and not for others.
  • Weather policy: ask what happens if the sea is too rough and whether you get a refund or a new date.
  • Departure point: a trip sold from Paphos may start in Latchi. Confirm where the vehicle or boat leaves.
  • Routes: for jeep tours, ask for the exact route and the insurance cover.

Cyprus tours: frequently asked questions

How much is a Blue Lagoon boat trip?

Two Latchi operators published €25 for adults in 2026. Children pay €15, with the age limit set at under 12 by one operator and under 11 by the other. Prices change with the season, so confirm the current rate at booking.

Can you go to the Blue Lagoon from Paphos?

Yes, but the boat leaves from Latchi. Some operators offer a hotel shuttle from Paphos. One of them describes a boat ride of about 3 hours and a whole trip of about 6 hours.

Do boat trips run in rough weather?

Not always. Operators say rough sea can cancel a trip, so ask before a long drive. Booking ahead is recommended.

Are jeep safaris allowed everywhere?

No. The type of vehicle does not decide whether a route is allowed or insured. Ask the operator for the route and read the rental terms if you drive yourself. Some areas of the Akamas peninsula are subject to closures.

Are entry tickets included in day trips?

That varies by tour. Check the list of inclusions. At the state-run sites adults pay €4.50 for Kourion and for the Kato Paphos park (2026 published rates), so a tour that leaves these out costs you extra.

What should you check on a tour to north Cyprus?

Carry your passport or ID card. Ask how the operator organizes the crossing and what applies to the vehicle and its insurance. Ledra Street and Ledra Palace in Nicosia are pedestrian crossings only.
