Larnaca tours and day trips
Day trips from Larnaca across the island, from the coast to the mountain villages, with live prices and availability.
The salt lake and its flamingos
The tourism portal says flamingos winter on the lake from November to March. If they find too little food, they can move on. Treat a flamingo sighting as a bonus, not a promise, and do not plan the day around a number of birds.
A linear nature path of 4 km runs through the lake area to the Kamares aqueduct. That is a one-way walk to the aqueduct, not a 4 km loop around the whole lake. Plan the way back when you choose your shoes and your water.
Church of Agios Lazaros
The church stands in the town center. Entry is free, and the opening hours depend on the season and the day. In summer, from March to October, it opens Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 18:30. On Sundays it is open from 06:30 to 12:30 and from 15:30 to 18:30.
From November to February the hours are shorter and split by a midday break. The church museum is a separate visit at โฌ1 per person, and it is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Hala Sultan Tekke
Hala Sultan Tekke stands on the western shore of the salt lake. It is still in religious use, and entry is free. It is open daily, from 08:30 to 17:00 in the winter period that applies in October and until 19:30 in summer.
Treat it as a place of worship. Follow the instructions on site and check there whether a visit is possible at the time you arrive.

Finikoudes and McKenzie beaches
Finikoudes is the city beach, with a palm-lined promenade, sand and shallow water. The tourism portal lists toilets and showers. The castle stands at the end of the beach, as the photo shows.
McKenzie Beach is a sandy beach near the airport with restaurants and water sports. Both beaches list lifeguards from June to October, which is later than many other beaches on the island. This is a published season, not a guarantee of cover every day.

Airport and buses
The airport is the reason many trips start here.
Airport bus
The operator lists line 425 via Larnaca Station and Finikoudes, plus airport lines 429, 430 and 432. Check the current timetable for the frequency.
Intercity
Since April 2025 the adult fares are โฌ5 single and โฌ9 return for Larnaca to Nicosia, Limassol and Ayia Napa/Paralimni. See the Limassol and Ayia Napa guides for the next stops.
Airport parking
At Larnaca airport, short-stay car park P2 charges โฌ1 for up to 20 minutes, โฌ3 for 21 to 40 minutes, โฌ4 for 41 to 60 minutes and โฌ6 for 1 to 2 hours. For 8 to 24 hours the price is โฌ20. These tariffs apply since 1 March 2026.
Rental cars
Traffic drives on the left. Major rental firms operate at Larnaca and Paphos, and the price depends on the car, the period and the extras.
Where to stay and a day trip
Finikoudes is the usual base, and Lefkara is the usual day trip.
Finikoudes
The city beach and the promenade have cafes, restaurants and hotels, and public buses link the area with the airport. See where to stay for the other regions.
Lefkara
The villages of Pano and Kato Lefkara lie in Larnaca district on the southeastern edge of the Troodos, about 650 m high and 43 km from Larnaca. They are known for lace embroidery and silver filigree. Read more in the Troodos guide.
